Making a More Resourceful World

In my Biomimicry class we have been studying how to make a product more sustainable. We looked at how long things take to decompose, and how to make a product with using the least material as possible. When you think how many natural resources we use its crazy. That's why I like this idea of an Eco friendly product that isn't bad to our environment. Also making consumers happy for getting what they want. Anyway here's my presentation enjoy.

In my conclusion I enjoyed doing this project. I would have liked it even more if we actual designed are products. I learned some new things from this and I will definitely keep looking at ways to make my world a better place. Furthermore before you think about creating anything, think how many resources do I need? After answering that question you will come to realize its not worth it.

Sustainable Designs

Over the last couple of weeks I have been in a class called Biomimicry here at G.C.E . In this class I have learned how to mimic other species and I have truly learned that everything is connected in some way. From my experience in this class i'm using a these new Ideas to create something sustainable for humans that we can use for the future. In this course we had different people from business that rely on biomimicry come to our school. At our school they provide examples of some things that were miciced, and we made models. I enjoyed being creative and also while learning something new. I hope you like this presentation.

Creation Inspired by Nature

In the first unit of our term S.T.E.A.M. class Biomimicry, we looked at plants for our creation that can help humans in someway. We also took a class trip to the Lincoln Park Conservatory where we got to see many species of plants that were very unique in their own way. We also went to Interface which is a carpet company, there we learned how their design of tiles helped the world. I’m choosing to make an Eco efficient mop that uses less materials and that is cheap, and reusable. For this action project, we have to connect the Sustainable Development Goals to our creation or model. I like my design of this amazing mop. It's so good that now I wanna actually make it. Well I think that's it hope you enjoy.

Grey Wolfs Environmental Change

For our second unit of Population class,we learned a lot about the evolution of our organisms and on Earth. We went on F.E.to the Field Museum to study our animal up close, and also went to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. There we learned about the history of Earth and how we and other organisms have come to evolve. At the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum ,we got to see taxonomist recreate the bodies of deceased animals native to Illinois. This is an important job because without them, we couldn't see how a species evolved over time and how they need to adapt to their change of environment. During our course of unit 2 ,we learned about standard deviation, statistics, permutation and combination and, box and whisker plots. Overall I learned something new everyday.

Red Wolf

Over my first unit in population class we have been discussing the taxonomy of organisms. We have also went over some mathematical concepts called sets and used these in our daily assignments and even partnered up with each other to create a universe of sets. Then as a class for are F.E we went to Lincoln Park zoo to study the behaviors of Chimpanzees then our picked organism. While here we took pictures, recorded and wrote down observations to settle a common ground. We also read a book over the summer called In the Shadows of Man by Jane Goodall and this book was based on the topic of how man came to evolve. It was very interesting and made me wonder how we got here, and how are humans and Chimps the same. This was a bit difficult for me being this my first A.P, but I worked hard on it and did the best I could do.

Shoot for the Stars..... Not So Fast!

During my second unit of my STEAM course, Frontiers, we've explored the skies and beyond. We have been looking into space like a book wi...
